International Energy week & 6-th Russian Oil & Gas Week

 

In October 30 -November 2, 2006 the International Energy Week & the 6-th Russian Oil & Gas Week were held under umbrella of the Federal Assembly of the RF, Ministry of Industry & Energy of the RF, Ministry Foreign Affairs of the RF, Ministry of Natural Resources of the RF, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RF & Russian Academy of Sciences in “President-hotel” in Moscow.

The plenary session Global energy problems and energy security was addressed by V. Khristenko, the Minister of the industry and energy of the RF, S.V.Kirienko, the Head of Federal Agency on atomic energy, K.B.Pulikovsky, the Head of Federal Service on ecological, technological and atomic supervision, A.I.Denisov, the First Deputy Minister of foreign affairs of the RF, A.I.Varlamov, the Deputy minister of natural resources of the RF, Loos Francois, Minister on affairs of the industry of France, A.Piebalgs, the Commissioner of the European Union on energy, M. Barkindo, Acting Secretary General OPEC, L.Echavari, the General director of Agency on a nuclear energy of the Organization of economic cooperation and development (ANE/ÎEÑD), U. Ramsey, The Depute to Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, A.Valter, The secretary general of the International Energy Forum, V. Burns, The Ambassador of the United States of America to the RF, S.M. Vaynshtok, the President of AK Transneft, M. Albers, President ExxsonMobil Development Company, M. Brinded, Executive director on prospecting and oil recovery and gas of concern Shell, A. Kanne, the President of the World Association of Wind Energy, M. Grouvel, the Senior Vice-president of company Total on the Continental Europe - Central Asia, K.Nobuera, the Adviser of the Ministry of Economics, trade and the industry of Japan, A. Shtokenberg, Minister of Economics of the Latvian Republic, M. Deora, Minister of Oil & Natural Gas of India and other heads of the international organizations, the Russian and foreign authorities, the energy companies and the scientific organizations.

Within the limits of the second part of plenary session Energy security and economic growth: tools and mechanisms,  Golomolzin A., Deputy head of Federal Antimonopoly Service of the RF, Kontorovich A., Director of Institute of Oil and Gas Geology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of sciences, R.Dadli, the President and the General managing director “TNK-BP”, Petrov G., Vice-president of Chamber of Commerce and industry of the RF, M.Kramer, The President of Gazuni, I.Kakefuda, the President of the Japanese National Corporation on oil-and-gas and metal manufacture JOGMEC and other officials made there presentations.

Within the limits of the program business meetings were attended by Khristenko V., the Minister of the industry and energy of the RF, Kirienko S., Head of Federal Agency on Atomic Energy, Pulikovskiy K., Head of Federal Agency on ecological technological and nuclear supervision, Varlamov A., the Deputy minister of natural resources of the RF, Petrov G., Vice-president of Chamber of Commerce and industry of the RF, as well as the heads of the international organizations, representatives of foreign governments and energy companies.

At Sessions and round tables there were all-around discussion on mechanisms of realization the St.-Petersburg plan actions for Global Energy Security, accepted by leaders of the countries of the G-8 at the summit in the St.-Petersburg in July, 2006, with participation of the heads of energy branches, the international organizations, scientific and public organizations, financial structures and the major companies of the countries of leading manufacturers and consumers of energy resources. Within the limits of business program of the IEW a number of meetings and negotiations of the heads of the Russian and foreign and industry companies took place.

The advanced equipment and materials have been presented at the exhibition Energy effective technologies and equipment. More than twenty sectoral and business publishing houses presented the magazines and newspapers at an exhibition. Among them: Neftegaz, Finmarket, World energetic, The Industrial Weekly, Economic strategies, Opec.ru, The Energy policy, The Oil economy, The Oil-and-gas equipment, The Oil-and-gas vertical, The Center of a political conjuncture of Russia, Russian Petroleum Investor, Energy of Industrial Growth, Info TEK Consulting, CDU TEK, Mineral resources of Russia, Pipeline transport of oil, Oil market, The World market of oil and gas, The Academy of Energetic, Chemical and oil-and-gas mechanical engineering, Economy of Russia - XXI century, Deposits, Oil, gas and business, Oil, gas and Law, Oil and Gas Geology, Oil and gas Eurasia, Our authority: business and persons, The Russian Oil & Gas Complex, Editions of Maksimov, Drilling and oil, Oil, Gas, Industry, The Moscow Industrial Newspaper,  The Oil-and-gas Vertical, Slant, Negus – Expo, Oil of Russia, Oil, Gas & Trade Engineering.

Interesting and bright event for participants was a series of presentations of such large and reputable companies as Exxon Mobil Development Company, NGS - Orgproektekonomika, Stroytransgas, Uralsvyaz’inform, Purpetruboprovodstroy, Kavkaztransgaz.

Two additional actions were held under the International Energy Week, one of them was conducted  on the request of the EU in October, 30th, 2006 - the Conference Comparative analysis of energy strategies of Russia and the European Union chaired V.B.Hristenko, Minister of Industry and Energy of the RF and A.Piebalgs, the Commissioner of EU on energy.

The Ministry of Industry and Energy of the RF proposed to carry out an expanded session of the Collegium of the Minpromenergo of Russia has been dated for the International Energy Week Electric-power industry. Strategy of effective development with participation of V.B. Khristenko, Minister of the Industry and Energy of Russia, A.B.Chubays, CEO of Russian Open Society “UES of Russia" and other heads of a energy complexes of Russia.

Under the Program of the International Energy Week and the 6-th Russia Oil & Gas Week they conducted press conferences of the heads the largest oil-and-gas and service Sponsor-companies of the Forum, heads of the international energy organizations, and as representatives of the Russian Academy of sciences in whom participated F.V. Lyubashevsky, President, the Integra Group of Companies, I. Kakefuda, President of Japan National Corporation on Oil & Gas and metallurgy, JOGMEC, N.D. Levshina, President of ICC RosCon, Vice chairman of Organizing Committee of the IEW, L. Echavari, General Director of Agency for Nuclear Energy of Organization of economic cooperation and development (ANE/OECD), P. Nore, Executive Secretary of International Union Gas, W. Ramsey, Depute Executive Director of International Energy Agency, M. Barkindo, Acting General Secretary of OPEC, A.E. Kontorovich, Academician of RAS, Director of Institute oil & gas problems of the RAS, N.P. Laverov, Vice president of the RAS.

Under the International Energy Week were held 9 Sessions, 3 round tables, 3 press conferences and more than 70 business meetings which were attended by about 300 representatives of the energy companies and the organizations. With reports were made by more than 200 participants of the Forum.

As a whole, the International Energy Week and the 6-th Russia Oil & Gas Week appeared much more representative than the previous forums. Summarizing opinions of the participants, it is possible to say that over the years of its existence the Russia Oil & Gas Week has reached a status of a large international event, and the representatives of business and political elite of many states will be longing for the next such an event in 2007.
